What is SIP? |
|
|
Structural Insulated Panel, or SIP, is a panel constructed of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) insulation laminated between two sheets of high strength galvanized steel to form one solid panel unit that when snapped together form a continuous foam interface which eliminates gaps in the wall and roof. This system is structurally superior over conventional stud framing methods because the core of rigid expanded polystyrene foam provides shear strength, while the exterior skins provide tensile and compressive strength.
